I am sorry to relay some sad Saengerfest news for those who may not have heard. One of our original Saengerfest members, Steven Foote, has passed away. Steve joined Saengerfest in 1992 and was a mentor and a friend to all the Saengerfest community until his retirement from the chorus a few years ago.
I was one of those lucky members who benefited from his welcoming and professional advice when I first joined the Saengerfest Tenor 2 section.
Steve’s daughter, Allison Reif, has asked to have his obituary shared with all the “appropriate people.” I would take the liberty to say that anyone connected to the Saengerfest community over the last 35 years would fall into that category.
Regardless of whether you are new to the chorus and never met Steve or know him as a friend, please take a moment to read his beautifully written obituary highlighting a life that was truly well-lived.

The funeral services will be on Saturday September 12th at 11 am at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 59 Court Street, Dedham, MA 02026. Anyone who would like to attend is more than welcome.
