Praised for his “masterful acting” and “fine singing,” American tenor Ethan DePuy brings his unique dramatic style to works ranging from the Baroque era to now.
DePuy trained as a young artist at the Chautauqua Opera Company, Charlottesville Opera, and the Brevard Music Center. His list of credits includes Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, Peter Quint in The Turn of the Screw, Alfred in Die Fledermaus, the title role in Albert Herring, Don Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro, Jaquino in Fidelio, King Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Chevalier de la Force in Dialogues of the Carmelites, and Motel the Tailor in Fiddler on the Roof.
A specialist in the works of J.S. Bach and Benjamin Britten, Mr. DePuy has performed in concert with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Music at Marsh Chapel, Emmanuel Music, Arcadia Players, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, Des Moines Choral Festival, CT Early Music Festival, Handel and Haydn Society, and American Bach Soloists.
A native of Rochester, NY, Ethan earned degrees in voice and opera performance from SUNY Fredonia and Arizona State University. He currently serves as Artistic Director of Boston Art Song Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the performance of the song recital.
